Two Magical nights of Music

VAM Harp Fest – Vancouver Academy of Music – November 19, 2022

UBC Choirs & UBC Symphony Orchestra – Brahms: Ein deutsches Requiem – December 03, 2022

The ability of music to maintain a mood was something my family and I had the chance to observe, hear, and be captivated by.

After performing the prelude music for the VAM Harp Fest on November 19, 2022, my niece Charlene joined the UBC choir in a concert at Chan Shun Concert Hall. The performance lasted for 70 minutes. Since I'm not schooled in music, I was perplexed as to why there wasn't applause after each set, they performed. So, when I questioned my niece about it after the performance, she responded,
"The entire Requiem is one composition."

While watching the performance, I listened to songs whose lyrics I was unfamiliar with and came to appreciate the range of voices and instruments utilized in songs. I'm happy that I found the time to watch these two various shows.

We possess the willpower to decide on and experience what brings us joy.

Which genres of music do you like to listen to and dance to?
  • A time to choose

It’s the time of the year once again when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. This year gave me so many blessings, and for that I am grateful. Life is not always without challenges and setbacks. Our chance to improve ourselves is in our own hands; use it. I decided to be productive and… Read more

  • Summer, then Fall

As we welcome Fall of 2024, let’s not forget the adventure we had last summer. I was fortunate to spend some quality time with my family. We explored Salt Spring Island and celebrated my brother’s 50th birthday in Las Vegas, which I promised not to visit again during the summertime. The intense heat made it… Read more

  • As a local author

I got invited to my local Richmond public library’s inaugural Writers for Readers event a week before spring arrived. It was my first time being invited as an author, so I was both overwhelmed and terrified at the same time. Before my book was released nearly two years ago, I had no prior experience interacting… Read more

  • Home, at last!

My second book launch in the Philippines was held in Lucena City, where I grew up. I have no elder to whom I can devote my accomplishments; therefore, it was bittersweet for me. My mom and maternal grandmother were both teachers. They both enjoy reading, and if they’re still with us, I’m sure they’re quite… Read more

First book launch in the Philippines: Makati City I have been planning to bring Revenge Mistaken to the Philippines. And finally, last month, I was fortunate to conduct my book launch. This one was held in Makati City and was a private book launch for people that hold special meaning for me. It was a… Read more

Special Page

Haydee

She’s the first person to read my manuscript from the start. The joy she brought me every time I sent her a new chapter made me pursue writing this book until the end. We have a sixteen-hour difference, and we have our own regular jobs, but we gave each other time to communicate and discuss the new chapter. But after Chapter 9, I stopped sending her updates because I wanted to surprise her with the new twist in my book. Finally, two days ago, we chatted again after she’d finished reading, and I asked her if while reading my book she had guessed that Ivy and (sorry, couldn’t reveal the name to avoid spoiler alert!!!) were related, and she said NO. Seeing her reply made me realized that I achieved my goal of giving my reader a revelation in the latter part of my novel.

I’m so glad that I have someone like Haydee who’s always there for me. She has a special page in my book!

Do you have someone who’s always there for you?

Happy Thanksgiving

Autumn is finally here; lots of colors, breezy wind and warmth of the sun blended nicely.

Instead of a roasted turkey, we had a hotpot for our family Thanksgiving dinner this year. We have lots of things to be thankful for, aside from having a wonderful family. My book, Revenge Mistaken, is selling in a slow phase, but that is normal because I am an unknown first-time author. Hopefully one day my book will be known to many.

I’m thankful for this, What’s yours?

Manila, Philippines

Autumn meets Tropical

The sky is so blue, and the sun is a little bit shy about coming out. There is a distance of ten thousand five hundred sixty-two kilometers between Vancouver, BC, Canada and Manila, Philippines. Revenge Mistaken is having R & R with a dear friend of mine. After waiting for almost two months, Jacqui is finally holding her hardcover copy.

Thank you to all my friends who pre-ordered and got their copies.

For those who want to get a copy of my book, a new shipment will be arriving, hopefully ready for Christmas 2022. Please leave me a message and I will reserve a copy for you. If you want a signed copy, please let me know. Thank you and enjoy the rest of 2022.
